The recipients of the Prime Minister’s Ehsaas Emergency Cash Programme in Jhelum have complained of misbehavior by staff members and delayed payments.
“I have been visiting here since the past three days and stay here from 6am till late in the evening but I still haven’t received the amount,” a recipient said.
“I had a thumbprint issue which was cleared by NADRA and I was informed that all my data will be available within a few hours,” the man said. He added that the staff at the Ehsaas Programme centre, however, claimed that the data transfer will take three days.
Other people at the centre also said that when the staff members are asked for details they get irritated and misbehave with them. “There isn’t even a water facility here for the visitors,” one of them added.
Recipients have demanded that the government take notice of the issue. The programme is supposed to help us, not create more problems, they said.
