A woman was arrested in Attock on Monday for impersonating an education officer and looting millions of rupees from residents, according to the police.
The suspect used to issue fake appointment letters to women. “The fraud was revealed when these women reached the education office with the letters but found that they were fake,” the police said.
An inquiry was then directed by Education CEO Javed Iqbal. It was revealed that the suspect had taken more than Rs1.6 million from people in exchange for the fake documents.
An operation was conducted by Attock ASP Ammara Shirazi and the woman was arrested with her accomplices. Video recordings and cash were found in her possession.
A case has been registered and further investigations are under way.
