Abbottabad police warn of strict action against coronavirus SOP violations

More than 2,500 drivers were fined and 1,400 people arrested for violating coronavirus precautionary measures in Abbottabad.

The action was taken by the Hazara police division over SOP violations in the area. According to the district’s deputy inspector-general, the public is not wearing masks or practicing social distancing.

Vehicles with more than three people in them are in violation of the government’s order.

If the violations continue, we will have to seal shops and close malls, he warned, adding that further action will include a lockdown.

This action was taken after the number of COVID-19 cases in the district increased. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has reported more than 12,400 cases and 541 deaths so far.
