Today’s outlook: Pakistan’s domestic flight operations resume after 2 months

Here are some of the news stories we are expecting to follow today (Saturday):

  • Pakistan’s first domestic flight will fly to Lahore from Karachi at 1pm. Flight operations have resumed after two months.
  • Karachi is expected to experience a heatwave starting Sunday.
  • Eight members of a family have allegedly died of the coronavirus in Larkana. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has ordered an inquiry into the matter and wants everyone who has been in touch with the family traced.
  • The National Command and Operation Center will review the SOPs that the Railways ministry has put in place to decide on the resumption of train operations.
  • An accountability court in Islamabad has summoned former president Asif Ali Zardari and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif in a case on the use of government vehicles.
  • The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to resume all public transport in the province from Monday
