Rawalpindi man arrested for harassing, blackmailing women online

A man was arrested for making fake IDs on social media, uploading inappropriate pictures and blackmailing women in Rawalpindi on Friday.

The operation was conducted by the Federal Investigation Agency’s cyber crime cell. They had received a complaint from a man whose daughter was being victimised after which action was taken within 24 hours.

The suspect, identified as Moin, used to blackmail women for money. “He used the pictures against them and when they refused to pay him, he made those picture public,” a lawyer said.

Moin has committed the crime with more than 12 women so far. The police have confiscated mobile phones, memory cards, pictures of women and a record of audio calls from him.

The police have attained his physical remand for three days after permission from the judicial magistrate to interrogate him further.
