Zainab Market and other adjoining markets were unsealed on Monday by Karachi’s assistant commissioner.
Victoria and International Market and markets on MA Jinnah Road such as Gul Plaza have also been reopened. Shopkeepers have been ordered to strictly follow the government’s coronavirus SOPs.
The unsealing took place under the supervision of the assistant commissioner, who warned that if the rules of social distancing are violated again the markets will be shut down.
The shops will follow the timings they had been following previously ie 8am to 4pm.
On the other hand, Karachi All Tajir Ittehad Chairperson Atiq Mir has announced that markets in the city will remain open for 24 hours until Eid. He also said that malls will be reopened from Monday.
