Zahir Jaffer’s parents’ bail application has been rejected by a court, it emerged Thursday in the Noor Mukadam murder case in Islamabad.
Additional district and sessions judge Muhammad Sohail announced the verdict in the morning and stated that the bail applications of both petitioners are restricted.
The judge hardly took few seconds to announce the verdict.
Zahir’s parents had separately applied for bail and have separate lawyers to represent them.
The investigation officer, Abdul Sattar, told SAMAA Digital that the CCTV footage obtained from Zahir’s residence shows chowkidar Iftikhar’s actions. When Noor jumped from the balcony and tried to run outside, the chowkidar closed the gate and didn’t let her go, the IO said.
The body was brought to the hospital at around 10:12pm on the day of the incident but the post-mortem was conducted the next morning at around 9am, said Abdul Sattar. At the previous hearing Zahir’s lawyers had questioned the autopsy report.

Noor, 27, the daughter of former diplomat Shaukat Mukadam, was found murdered at a residence in Islamabad’s Sector F-7/4 on July 20.
An FIR was registered later the same day against Zahir, who was arrested from the scene of the murder, under Section 302 (premeditated murder) of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of the victim’s father.
