Two labourers were killed after the roof of the tank where they were sleeping on collapsed Sunday night in Tharparkar’s Islamkot.
The incident took place in the Thar coalfield. According to rescue officials, a new water tank had been built where the men were sleeping.
“The material used in the construction of the tank was substandard because of which the roof where it was installed collapsed,” he said. Both labourers died before they could be rescued from under the debris.
The victims hailed from Diplo. Their bodies were immediately shifted to the hospital where their post-mortem examinations are being carried out.
