Azad Kashmir’s Mangla Bridge reopens for tourists after 3 months

The government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir reopened its Mangla Bridge for tourists on Friday after three months of closure due to the novel coronavirus.

This was done after Prime Minister Imran Khan urged the reopening of the tourism industry across the country.

A notification was issued after which private and public vehicles are allowed to pass through the bridge amid SOPs. Travelers will have to provide their details at entry and exit points.

Tourists arriving in Kashmir will have to get themselves screened at the bridge and must wear masks. For private cars, no more than three people will be allowed to travel at a time.

The rules of social distancing are also to be strictly implemented. People failing to comply with the SOPs will punished.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir has reported 285 COVID-19 cases so far.
