Today’s outlook: Pakistan opens shopping malls, Cabinet further eases lockdown

Here are some of the news stories are expecting to follow today (Tuesday):

  • Prime Minister Imran Khan will chair a Federal Cabinet meeting to decide on further easing the lockdown. The prime minister allowed Monday 15 trains to resume operation. The Sindh government has, however, refused to restore train operations for now.
  • A petition has been filed in the Lahore High Court to ban video game PUBG.
  • The Sindh health minister has indicated that the plasma therapy experiment has been successful in Pakistan. She said the three patients who were treated using the therapy have recovered from the coronavirus in nine days.
  • A special flight of the Pakistan International Airlines departed from Wuhan, China on Monday to bring 274 Pakistani students back home.
  • The police in North Waziristan arrested two men for allegedly murdering two women family members after a video of them went viral.
  • The Sindh government has replaced the Karachi Development Authority director-general and the managing director of the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board.
