Six people, including a two-year-old child, were injured after a gas cylinder exploded in Karachi’s Kharadar Friday evening.
The incident took place on the fourth floor of a residential building named Bilquees Plaza. According to neighbours, they heard the explosion while they were opening their fast.
“It was so loud that our window panes broke,” of them said.
The family was immediately shifted to the Burns Ward of Civil Hospital. A woman among those injured has been declared in critical condition, doctors said.
Residents have complained that ever since Ramazan started, gas pressure reduces at iftar time because of which they have been forced to use cylinders.
They have demanded that the Sui Gas authorities visit their area and resolve their issues to prevent such incidents in the future.
