Punjab reopens shrines across the province with SOPs

The Punjab government has announced to reopen shrines across the province with a set of SOPs issued by the health department.

The shrines will remain open for three days, including Eid. Devotees in the province have expressed their delight and thanked the government.

According to the managements of the shrines, they are ensuring strict implementation of the SOPs. Visitors have to pass through disinfectant booths. It’s compulsory for everyone to wear masks and prayer areas inside the shrines are being constantly cleaned.

The government has said that if enough precautionary measures are taken, they will consider keeping the shrines open for more days.

On March 16, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar ordered shrines in Punjab to be closed for three weeks after coronavirus cases in the province rose. The closure was extended along with the countrywide lockdown.
