Pakistan-IMF talks begin as team arrives in Islamabad

An IMF team has arrived in Islamabad and talks with the Pakistani government start today (Monday).

This series of talks is expected to last for two weeks. After completing its second review, the IMF is likely to release $450 million to the Pakistani government.

Under the $6 billion IMF programme, Pakistan has already received $1.44 billion.

The meetings will discuss technical and policy decisions.
